Oscar enters the market with Adamson

UAE:
A new entrant to the UAE’s rental market has opened for business, powered by technology from Adamson and Yamaha. Dubai-based Oscar Productions purchased the equipment through the local distributor for both manufacturers, Thomsun Trading.

The Adamson purchase includes 16 of the Canadian manufacturer’s S10 line array cabinets, eight S119 subwoofers and four M12 floor wedges. The system is driven by two Adamson customised E-Racks equipped with Lab.gruppen PLM+ series amplifiers, featuring Lake processing and Dante networking functionality.

‘The Adamson gear is really impressive,’ said Oscar’s sound engineer, Sajji PA. ‘It is also quite simple and efficient to set up and tune the system before a show. I use their BluePrint software and plan the coverage. It even helps with planning rigging at the venue.’

The Yamaha inventory includes a QL5 console and two Rio3224-D stage racks. In addition to this, Oscar has also purchased eight cabinets each of the Yamaha DSR115 and DSR112, as well as DXS118 subwoofers.

‘We are very happy that Oscar chose to go with Adamson and Yamaha,’ noted Thomsun pro audio sales engineer, Tittoo Cherian Joseph. ‘They seemed sure about the Yamaha equipment right from the start, but when they heard the Adamson S10 system at a demo, it was quite evident that they were very impressed.’

The equipment has already been put to the test at several key events such as at the Al Nasr Club Auditorium, Dubai Police Club grounds and at the Indian Holi festival at Jumeirah Lake Towers. Prior to this, the Oscar team underwent two days of training on the Adamson equipment. ‘We always emphasise the importance of training,’ said Mr Joseph. ‘This way, they make the most of their gear and we in turn receive fewer last minute calls for support.’
